Joy – Hopefully you’ll see this (though I may send you an email, just to be sure).

First question: When do you arrive in San Diego? If you’ll be there Wednesday, whether you go to Preview Night or not, I encourage you to get your badge Wednesday night. The Convention Center will start handing out badges about midday Wednesday, and yes, there will be a line.

If your first event is on a Friday morning, and you get into San Diego early enough on Thursday, follow the same plan.

If that’s not possible, get to the convention center as early as you can on the day you have a pass for. You won’t be able to get into a line for Hall H without your pass, so go get it first!

Please advise: What is the procedure? Get the badge first before entry into any of the panels? I’m interested in going to Hall H. So should I line up to get to Sails first and then proceed to line up outside Hall H?? Traveling with a friend: should one of us stay in line outside Hall H while the other goes to get her badge and then swap? Is there a humongous line to get badges too?

I am going to my first con this year and I am volunteering. Do volunteers get dibs on the things they really want to be a part of or do we have to wait in line with the “commoners”? Great site by the way, very useful info. Thanks

Hand sanitizers like Purex aren’t very effective in preventing the spread of viruses – fortunately, hand-washing IS. I don’t know anything about SDCC bathrooms though; this year is my first!

Oh yeah, one other thing: The only time I’ve ever seen people lining up the day before, in 10 years at Con, was last year, for Twilight. Not necessary, though, since it was Hall H; I got in line around 8 AM and had no problem getting in.
